Microsoft’s Satya Nadella Is Choosing Chatbots

Introduction Of Microsoft

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella says he still enjoys podcasts — but listening to them? Not so much anymore.

According to a recent Bloomberg profile that dives deep into Microsoft’s AI ambitions and its complex partnership with OpenAI, Nadella now takes a more futuristic approach to consuming podcast content. Instead of tuning in like the rest of us, he uploads podcast transcripts into It’s Copilot AI and chats with the assistant about them during his morning commute.

This isn’t just a quirky habit — it’s a window into how deeply embedded Copilot has become in Nadella’s routine. He even refers to himself, half-jokingly, as an “email typist,” a nod to the many mundane tasks he’s offloaded to AI. Nadella reportedly uses more than 10 custom Copilot agents to handle everything from summarizing emails and chat messages to prepping for meetings and managing day-to-day office duties.

The shift toward AI isn’t just happening at the executive level, either. It is leaning heavily into automation across the board. According to internal reports, engineers and programmers were among the most affected by the company’s recent layoffs — a move that followed Nadella’s bold statement that nearly 30% of It’s code is now generated by AI.

Clearly, AI isn’t just a tool at Microsoft — it’s becoming part of the company’s core DNA. And for Nadella, the future of work doesn’t sound like a podcast. It sounds like a conversation with Copilot.
