PlayStation State of Play Set for June 4

Introduction Of PlayStation

Sony has officially locked in the date for its next State of Play presentation, airing on June 4 at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET. The showcase will run for around 40 minutes and promises fresh news and updates on upcoming PlayStation 5 titles—though Sony is keeping the actual game list under wraps for now.

As usual, fans can catch the livestream on PlayStation’s official Twitch and YouTube channels.

This announcement comes right in the middle of what used to be E3 season, now replaced by a jam-packed lineup of digital gaming events. Alongside State of Play, this year’s schedule includes Summer Game Fest, the Xbox Games Showcase, and the PC Gaming Show, among others.

So, what might Sony have in store? While no titles have been confirmed, there are plenty of possibilities. First-party studios are hard at work on several known projects—Bungie’s Marathon and Housemarque’s Saros, for instance—while Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is set to drop later this month as a major PS5 exclusive.

Then there’s Naughty Dog, which continues to spark speculation. The studio is currently developing two projects: Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet and a still-unnamed mystery game. Many fans suspect it could be The Last of Us: Part III, though writer-director Neil Druckmann remains tight-lipped about whether it’s even in the pipeline.

With so many big names in the mix and Sony playing its cards close to the chest, June 4 is shaping up to be a must-watch for PlayStation fans.
