The competition to secure Apple’s newest phone is expected to be fierce. Loyal users are preparing to stay glued to their screens, fingers ready to click the moment bookings open, hoping to beat the rush and secure the device before it sells out.
Waiting for the New iPhone Mohammed Shuaib, an electronic engineer from Al Nahda, is one of those who made sure he has the day off to guarantee he doesn’t miss out on the pre-order.
“I took a comp day just for this,” Shuaib said. “I’ve been waiting for this moment—finally getting a new phone after three years.” Shuaib, who currently owns an iPhone 13 Pro Max, had considered upgrading a couple of months ago but decided to hold out for the iPhone 16 instead. “I thought, why not wait a little longer for the latest model instead of going for the 15 Pro Max? Now, I just hope I’m lucky enough to get it on launch day.”
Like many tech enthusiasts, Shuaib understands the importance of booking early, knowing the demand will surge as soon as the pre-orders go live.
Ready and Prepared Ateeq Ahmed, a sales executive at an FMGC company, has taken a different approach, opting to finish work early. “I’ve been preparing since morning,” he shared. “I went to work at 6 AM, wrapped up all my tasks by noon, then headed to Friday prayers. Now I’m ready for 4 PM.”
Ahmed plans to pre-book not just one, but several phones. “My wife needs a new phone, and if I can manage to get two or three on launch day, I can sell them at a premium, which will help fund her phone,” he explained.
For many in the UAE, the iPhone launch represents more than just the excitement of owning the newest tech – it’s also seen as a smart business move.
