The significance of this donation cannot be overstated, as it stands as one of the largest contributions to the initiative within the UAE. Azizi Developments, led by Mirwais Azizi, founder and chairman, alongside his son, Farhad Azizi, CEO, showcased their commitment to societal betterment through this substantial allocation of funds. Their presentation of plans for the donation to key figures like Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Mohammed Al Gergawi, Secretary General of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), underscores their dedication to the cause of education in the region.

The proposed educational center, spanning an impressive 800,000 square feet, is slated to accommodate over 5,000 students ranging from kindergarten to Grade 12. It promises to be a beacon of modern learning, equipped with cutting-edge facilities and amenities aimed at fostering holistic development among students. From sports facilities like football, tennis, basketball, and swimming pools to innovative learning spaces such as a digitized library, media interaction hubs, and food technology labs, the campus is designed to nurture well-rounded individuals capable of meeting the challenges of tomorrow.

Notably, sustainability lies at the heart of this ambitious project, with Azizi Developments endeavoring to attain LEED Gold or Sa’fat Gold green building certification. Through the integration of photovoltaic panels, water recycling systems, and other eco-friendly measures, the campus seeks to minimize its environmental footprint while setting a precedent for sustainable development in the region.

Furthermore, the foresight of Azizi Developments extends beyond the educational realm, with plans to develop 30,000 square feet of retail space adjacent to the school plot. This strategic move aims to ensure the financial sustainability of the institution, thereby safeguarding its long-term viability and impact on the community.

Mirwais Azizi, expressing his gratitude towards Dubai and its leadership, remarked, “Year after year, Dubai’s impact as a global leader in philanthropy, under the inspirational leadership of Sheikh Mohammed is growing.” He further emphasized the family’s deep-rooted connection to Dubai, acknowledging the city’s role in providing safety and abundant opportunities over the decades.

This substantial donation adds to Azizi Developments’ legacy of philanthropy, which includes initiatives such as contributing to the 1 Billion Meals campaign and undertaking projects like building a cancer center, a hospital, a dialysis center, and the largest orphanage in Afghanistan. Moreover, with plans underway for the construction of what is projected to be the second tallest tower in Dubai, Azizi Developments continues to make significant strides in reshaping the city’s skyline and enhancing its societal fabric.

In conclusion, the Dh600 million donation by Azizi Developments towards the construction of a transformative educational campus exemplifies the spirit of giving and commitment to education that defines Dubai. As the city marches towards a future characterized by progress and inclusivity, initiatives like these serve as beacons of hope, illuminating the path towards a brighter tomorrow for generations to come.
