Bangladesh: Dh15 Million Big Ticket Prize

Introduction Of Bangladesh

A group of 36 individuals from Chittagong, Bangladesh, has pledged to use part of their newfound wealth to provide immediate relief to flood victims in their homeland. The group, who collectively won Dh15 million in the latest Big Ticket Abu Dhabi raffle, feels a deep sense of responsibility to aid those suffering back home.

For five years, this group of expatriates pooled their money together, purchasing tickets with the hope that one day their fortunes would change. On Tuesday, that day finally arrived. The winning ticket, number 201918, was purchased in the name of Nur Miah, one of the group’s members.

“We have been blessed with newfound wealth, but others are grappling with unimaginable loss,” said Miah. “The first thing we all agreed upon was sending money to Bangladesh. The floods have destroyed homes and lives. We have been so lucky with this win, and now it’s our turn to help rebuild.”

The group’s dedication to supporting their countrymen is deeply rooted in their shared experiences. Each member contributed varying amounts, with Miah contributing Dh25 and securing Dh350,000. Others contributed anywhere from Dh25 to Dh70, with their share of the prize money determined by their contributions.

Despite the jubilation of their win, the group wasted no time in making a collective decision: a significant portion of their prize would go towards helping those devastated by the recent floods in Bangladesh. The scale of the disaster, which has left countless people homeless and without basic necessities, weighed heavily on their minds.

“We have been planning this for years, and now that we’ve won, we know where the money needs to go first,” Miah emphasized. “We want to provide immediate relief, but also help in the long term—whether it’s rebuilding homes, providing clean water, or ensuring that children can return to school.”

Their generosity comes at a time when many in Bangladesh are struggling to recover from the widespread destruction caused by the floods. The group’s gesture is a reminder that even in moments of personal triumph, there can be room for compassion and solidarity.

Their decision has inspired others in the community, with some already discussing plans to contribute to the cause. “We hope that our story encourages others to give, even if it’s just a small amount. Every little bit helps,” Miah added.

As they prepare to send the much-needed funds to Bangladesh, the group remains humble. “This is not just our win; it’s a win for everyone who needs help right now. We’ve been fortunate, and it’s our responsibility to pass that fortune on to others,” Miah concluded.

In a world where winning often means celebrating personal gains, these 36 individuals have shown that victory can also be a chance to give back to those in need. Their actions are a testament to the power of community and the enduring spirit of generosity.
