A woman and her child were injured on Sunday after debris from an intercepted drone struck the façade of Etihad Towers, authorities confirmed. The incident also resulted in minor material damage to the building.

In an official statement, the Abu Dhabi Media Office said relevant authorities were responding to “an incident involving the fall of debris from a drone after it was intercepted by air defence systems onto the façade of one of the buildings at Etihad Towers.”
The injured individuals received immediate medical care. Officials did not disclose further details regarding their condition.

Loud sounds were reported across Abu Dhabi and Dubai for a second consecutive day, coinciding with Iran’s retaliatory strikes targeting neighbouring Gulf states. The strikes followed joint military action by the United States and Israel against Iran.

Earlier, officials confirmed that two people were injured in Dubai after shrapnel from intercepted drones fell into the courtyards of two residential homes. According to a statement from Dubai authorities, those injured received the necessary medical treatment.
As UAE air defence systems continue interception operations, authorities have reassured the public that the situation remains under control. Officials emphasised that national security agencies are closely monitoring developments and prioritising public safety.
