Opera’s Neon Browser Code Websites For You

Introduction Of Neon

Opera just dropped a sneak peek at its upcoming AI-powered browser, Opera Neon, and it’s gunning for a big upgrade in how we interact with the web. Announced on Tuesday, this new browser is all about streamlining workflows with artificial intelligence—think shopping, filling out forms, planning trips, and even building websites or games without writing a single line of code yourself.

But here’s the catch: Neon isn’t publicly available yet. It’s currently behind a waitlist, and once it does roll out, it’ll be subscription-based. No word on pricing yet, so stay tuned for that detail.

What sets Neon apart is its fresh sidebar interface featuring three main tools: Chat, Do, and Make.

  • Chat offers a built-in chatbot experience. You can search the web, ask questions, and dig deeper into the sites you’re browsing—all through a conversational AI interface.
  • Do leans on Opera’s in-house Browser AI agent, announced earlier this year. It’s designed to tackle everyday digital chores like filling out forms and booking your trips—directly within the browser.
  • Make is where things get really ambitious. This feature claims to generate everything from websites and game prototypes to code snippets and reports, just from simple text prompts. And thanks to a virtual machine that runs in the cloud, these tasks can keep going even when your device is offline. Bonus: you can queue up multiple tasks at once.

It’s a bold vision—but let’s be honest, it’s also one we’ve heard before. The AI space is full of big promises that don’t always land in practice. Opera isn’t alone in this race either. Last year, The Browser Company teased its own AI-driven browser, and Google is cooking up its own AI agents that might not just search the web, but take action too.

Bottom line? Opera Neon could be a glimpse into the future of browsers—if it can actually deliver. Until then, consider us cautiously optimistic.
