To reach Bora Bora, you’ll first fly into Faa’a International Airport (PPT) in Papeete, Tahiti. Several international flights connect to Tahiti, and if you’re traveling from the U.S., it’s closer than you might think! For West Coast travelers, the flight is approximately 7.5 hours from San Francisco or Los Angeles. Here’s a quick look at the best options:

From Los Angeles (LAX): Air Tahiti Nui or Air France
From San Francisco (SFO): United Airlines (Frenchbee, a budget airline, offers deals as low as $500 for round-trip tickets but is subject to availability and seasonal schedules).

The only way to get to It from Tahiti is by domestic flight via Air Tahiti (not to be confused with Air Tahiti Nui).
