UAE Weather Update: Dust Alert Issued

Introduction Of UAE

UAE

Motorists are urged to exercise caution during periods of low visibility, while beachgoers should remain vigilant as sea conditions fluctuate over the next 48 hours.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a fresh weather alert, warning of strong northwesterly winds sweeping across parts of the UAE. These winds are stirring up dust and reducing visibility to less than 3,000 meters in certain areas. The adverse conditions are anticipated to persist until 9 PM on Tuesday.

With Ramadan underway, many residents will be venturing out for iftar gatherings around 6:35 PM. Authorities advise extra care, particularly on the roads, where visibility may be significantly impacted.

Weather Outlook for the Coming Days

According to the NCM, unsettled weather conditions will continue throughout the week. On Wednesday, skies are expected to be cloudy at times, accompanied by fresh winds, particularly over coastal areas. By nightfall, humidity levels will rise, increasing the likelihood of fog or mist formation in coastal and inland regions by Thursday morning.

The Arabian Gulf will experience rough to moderate sea conditions on Wednesday, gradually calming to slight waves by Thursday. Winds will range from light to moderate, shifting between northwesterly and northeasterly directions, with speeds reaching up to 35 km/h.

From Thursday through Saturday, fair to partly cloudy weather is forecast across the UAE, with a slight increase in temperatures. However, rising humidity levels overnight may lead to fog formation, particularly in western parts of the country.

Advisory for Residents

  • Motorists: Drive with caution, especially during low visibility hours.
  • Beachgoers: Be mindful of fluctuating sea conditions over the next 48 hours.
